Nova Scotia Junior and Senior High School Divisions 2008

This competition has been sanction by the NSSAF

Team Competitions
This year, you can pick which division you want to enter. By popular demand, the rules will be the same as always for both divisions:

High School Division A: Intermediate - Elite
High School Division B: Novice - Intermediate

Junior High Division A: Intermediate - Elite
Junior High Division B: Novice - Intermediate

** Division B was developed for new teams and is intended for new teams...not experienced teams that are not as ready as they would like to be. Experienced teams should register in Division A. If your team has been established for more than 2 years, then you should consider Division A. If you are unsure which division to enter, contact us!

In addition to the team cheer competition, there will also be other fun divisions to enter:

Individual Competitions
The floor routine will be scored on all individual cheerleading elements including cheer, dance, motions, jumps, and tumbling. Failure to complete at least one element from each of the above will result in a score of 0 for that portion of the score sheet. Gymnastics ability is not essential to compete but it will be scored for all competitors. Cheerleaders are permitted to perform any cheerleading element, provided they do not violate their general team rules. The routine length is Max. 1:30 (one minute 30 seconds). Music MUST be used in the choreography. There are no Division A/B splits for stunt groups and individuals. A maximum of two individuals may represent each team. See Score Sheet

Stunt Group Competitions
Stunt group routines should consist of stunts only, without cheer, dance or gymnastics. Background music MUST be used in the choreography. During the succession of stunts performed, the top/flyer may only touch down to the floor twice after the routine has started. Additional touchdowns will result in a 1 pt deduction per infraction. Time limit is 1 minute Max. The stunt group MUST consist of two bases, one back spotter, one top/flyer, and one front spotter (5 people in total). Stunt groups MUST adhere to their team rules. There are no Division A/B splits for stunt groups and individuals. A maximum of two stunt groups may represent each team. See Score Sheet
