RESTRICTIONS:
Only Canadian-based teams are eligible to receive bids
Teams must compete in-person in order to be eligible for Summit bids
Teams must be registered and compete in an IASF Summit eligible division.
DIVISIONS:
Please see the IASF Summit Bid eligible division list (as released by Varsity Spirit). For the Summit, please review the Summit Info Guide for International programs here: https://www.varsity.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Summit_INT_InfoGuide_26-1.pdf Guidance on roster changes or division changes can also be found in the guide.
For the Youth Summit please review the divisions and information on Varsity Spirit website for the Youth Summit. Canadian teams will compete in the D1 USASF divisions and a minimum of 1 team per non-US country will advance to finals at the Youth Summit.
All teams must be eligible for the IASF Division bid path they choose, including age, gender, minimum number and total number or athletes. No age exceptions will be allowed when competing at the Summit, regardless of exceptions a country may be allowing during a given year.
Note that the minimum number of athletes is 16 in IASF divisions at the Summit.
Non-U.S. teams are not eligible to compete at the USASF DII Summit subdivisions, they must compete at The Summit in an IASF division or the appropriate USASF division for The Youth Summit.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Bids will be awarded based on the recommendations of the judging panel. Top scores within each division will absolutely be a factor, but not the sole determinant in the judges’ recommendations. Other considerations include:
• Comparison of scores across panels
• Consideration given to division of levels across multiple judging panels
• Consideration of participation and excellence within each level as compared to participation/excellence in other levels (IE number of competing teams in the level and competitiveness of teams within the level)
REVEAL:
Note: Bids earned in Canada through partner event producers are not included in the traditional Varsity reveal. Bid reveal will happen either live at CheerExpo Nationals during the award ceremony, OR be announced on social media by CheerExpo with 48 hours of the event.
SCORING:
Cheer Canada score sheets will be used.
TIE BREAKER POLICY FOR SUMMIT BIDS:
In the event that there is a tie for an AT-LARGE Summit Bid, the tie will not be broken. Both teams will be awarded a bid to the Summit as long as both teams have opted in.
ROLL DOWN BIDS AND DEFERRED BIDS:
Bids do not roll down. If a team receives an At-Large bid and then upgrades to a Paid Bid at another event, the original At-Large bid cannot be given to another team. It is eliminated. Bids can only be used in the current season…they cannot be deferred to next season.
ETHICS:
Bids are not to be used as a recruitment tool. Any program found to be utilizing their bid to solicit athletes from other programs may have their bid revoked and be banned from future events. Teams with ineligible athletes may be declared ineligible. Please be familiar with the IASF Summit Bid division eligibility as outlined by Varsity Spirit.
CheerExpo reserves the right to modify, change or adjust the bid giving process at its discretion. Customers are advised to monitor Varsity Spirit’s requirements as they may be altered, updated or modified at any time. Last update: 06/30/2025
THE CHEER + DANCE GLOBAL GAMES – HONOLULU, HAWAII
This event is more than a competition, it’s a phenomenal cultural experience unlike any other cheer event in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
CheerExpo Nationals is proud to be awarding up to 5 Partial Paid Bids ($7,000 CAD each) and 1 Paid Bid ($10,000 CAD)!
💸 5 Partial Paid Bids: $7,000 CAD ($350/athlete) 🎉 To receive the full value of the bid, teams must stay on the Global Games accommodation package and have 20 athletes staying. If less than 20 athletes staying the bid will be pro-rated based on the athlete number.
💸 1 Fully Paid Bid: $10,000 CAD ($500/athlete) 🎉 To receive the full value of the bid, teams must stay on the Global Games accommodation package and have 20 athletes staying. If less than 20 athletes staying the bid will be pro-rated based on the athlete number.
Global Games Bid Terms & Conditions
Bid Value
a. Applied as a credit toward accommodations and/or comp fee invoices.
b. If fewer than 20 athletes attend, value is pro-rated per athlete.
Accommodation Requirement
a. Athletes must book the official Global Games accommodation package to receive bid value.
Cash Option
a. If not applied as invoice credit, bid value may be paid as cash after attending the event.
Athlete Substitution & Division Changes
a. You may add, remove or substitute athletes.
b. You may change divisions as long as you advise us in writing before 31 January (if deferring)
Promotional Use
a. Any team videos or photos of the bid winning routine may be used for marketing.
b. We may promote your team’s attendance on social media and in advertising.
Non-Transferable
a. Bids are valid only for the named program and athletes and cannot be transferred.
No-Show Forfeits Bid
a. If the team does not attend, the bid is void and holds no cash or credit value.
Bids are flexible. Teams can add/remove athletes after receiving the bid. However, it is the individual athlete on that bid winning team that retains the bid privilege and it is not transferable to different athletes or teams. For example, if 2 athletes are removed and 2 new athletes are added to a 20-person team (assuming a Partial Paid bid of $7000 CAD), the value of the bid would now be $6300 calculated this way: $7000 - ($350 x 2).
Each bid is attributable to one team only. Crossover fees may be applied if extra teams (without a bid) attend. If you split the original athletes between two teams, only 1 of the teams may claim the bid amount, and for the original athletes only.
If a bid is deferred to the following year, the team can use it for whatever division they wish to enter; however, only the athletes that earned the bid will retain the value of the bid.
You can find more information about the Global Games here, including pricing and divisions offered for both cheer and dance: https://globalgames.website/
Please note that if you do not submit an Opt-in Form for your team(s), this is considered a formal DECLINE of the bids. This means that your team WILL NOT BE AWARDED A BID; EVEN IF THEY DESERVE ONE. You will be passed over. Opt-in forms will be sent 1 month prior to CheerExpo to all registered programs
